About Me



Wilmington is Lynne Boney’s hometown. She has watched its transformation from a sleepy coastal community to a popular year-round destination.  Lynne joined Intracoastal Realty over 17 years ago after a career as a flight attendant with Piedmont Airlines and USAir and she has been an active Realtor ever since. 

Having studied music since early childhood, Lynne graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  She sang with Opera Carolina, Des Moines Metro Opera and enjoyed leading musical theater roles in Wilmington. 

Committed to volunteerism, Lynne is involved in various artistic, civic and non-profit organizations:

  • An active Hospice volunteer, Lynne applies her skills as a harpist to complete the (MHTP) Music for Healing and Transition Program.  MHTP recognizes the transformative power of music as a therapeutic enhancement to the healing process and the life/death transition.
  • Lynne is a past member of The Junior League of Wilmington empowering women to enrich and improve the community through leadership, education and charitable initiatives.
  • Lynne was President of the 2006 Cape Fear Chapter of the North Carolina Symphony honored with the America’s Next Great Orchestra award.
  • Lynne is an active Rotarian and passionate about historic preservation. She currently serves as Vice-Chair for the Wilmington Historic Preservation Commission. Lynne and her husband Charles are 32-year residents of Wilmington’s Historic District.
  • Lynne currently holds an appointment with the North Carolina Arts Council.
